Wanted: Old style AMG Rear boot badge

Hi,

I'm on the look out for a set of rear AMG Boot badges from the 80's....these were typically black in colour and the capital A, M, G were underlined sort of like this A M G

If anybody has any of these kicking about or knows where I can find some, please let me know.

Well its kind of heading that way.....the engine is 95% rebuilt and should be finished in the next week or so. I then have to transport the car itself from Reading to Manchester early in the New Year to reunite engine with car etc.

Once this has happened it's then a case of going over the car from front to back checking that everything works, changing fluids, filters etc etc.

So I'm hoping that by February the car should be back on the road after being off it for the last 8 !!

ps: thanks KLP.....I'll give AMG a go, but judging from my various dealings with them, they tend to have no interest in anything pre Merger with Mercedes........which is a crying shame, when you consider some of the fantastic cars they made when they were a privately owned Co.

Many thanks.....nice one, and much appreciated.

I've just given the breakers a call and asked how much they would charge for the complete boot lid....they are getting back to me on that.

Re the interior......shocker.....somebody clearly had no colour sense when they spec'd that one!

Contacted this firm myself as there were a few bits on the 300 that I would like.

"Just moving offices mate, will have to get back to you with some prices"

No probs, gives them 2 numbers to reach me on......nothing. Phone back yesterday to find out whats happening..."Sorry mate, we haven't forgotten, bit busy as we are moving, still got your no.s though and will phone you"

Today.........no news as yet, expecting a call to say bits have been sold !!

Maybe someone could tell me why you would try and sell something when you have no idea of its price and its not really ready to be sold. If its not ready to go don't stick it on ebay, numpties !

If this car was ever available through a stealership then there is a good chance that the part is still available from the parts counter, anyone with an EPC can look this up

Price should be about £20-30 I expect. It's a lot, but if they have one then it's an easy job.

Quick update.....I did speak to the guy selling the bootlid and I've not gone for it as its going to cost £60 + courier for the bootlid, and I don't need a bootlid just the badge, and I'm worried that I'll end up breaking the badge off the bootlid and being left with a bootlid etc etc

I'm going to keep my eyes scanned on e-bay Germany and see if anything crops up.

I could have got hold a series 2 bagde. The Badge is slightly smaller than the series one and is plastic not metal but is self adhesive instead of the old push in pin type.
