I am just approaching the end of a Plan B warranty provided by RAC which came with the car.
I was told today that I need a new electronic ignition switch, and a new seal on the gearbox.
I know they will only cover the parts listed, and I thought it probably would cover the EIS but not the seal. In actual fact, it seems the seal is covered but there is no mention of the EIS on the paperwork so I might have to fork out myself.
The only parts relating to the ignition that are mentioned are the "starter/solenoid, alternator, regulator, and coil"
My question is whether the EIS might be classified as any of the above? I'm not at all mechanically minded, and I expect the answer is "no", but no harm in asking!
