Just heard the news on Radio 1 and it seems the similar to how the currently do the radio listen again they are going to do the same thing for tv programs where you can watch them for up to a week after the broadcast.

It was only the other week I was saying it wouldn't be long until this happens but I don’t seem to be able to find anything about it on the BBC website.

Anyone else heard it or got any links. Sounds a good idea and think the other channels should follow suit.

I can already do this with my telewest cable TV.

I can select the day of the week and the programme I missed and play it again at my will. (for free)

Doest appear that many of the independent channels have subscribed to this idea yet but I wouldnt think it'll be long. I guess the hold up is that potentially you could watch the programme commercial free.

.

can you watch it only next week and thus demand a tv licence rebate for not getting it new?

I got something from Bulldog Broadband a few months ago asking if i wanted to participate in a trial something like this.. at the time i replied yes.. but not heard anything since.

BBC is about the only channel i watch.. can't seem to find anything else useful on the other channels.

Spike,
I'm a telewest customer but this must have passed me by, can you explain how it works please

ntl has a version of what Sp!ke describes too, only not as sophisticated. You only get to choose from BBC programming that ntl deem is worth saving for the week. The program is then streamed from their server for free.

I feel sorry for you guys on Telewest if your service becomes like ntl's service post merger. :(

I've been trying to get an ntl engineer to visit to fault fix since Friday (04Nov05) and due to their usual bungling incompetence they messed up this evening and now re-scheduled my visit for Wed. Sorry for going off topic, I'll go back to fuming in the corner.

TiVo - :D shame it wont support HDTV :( Cable WILL be releasing PVR's soon and they WILL kick SKY's butt!
