Our W203 broke down recently, thankfully it was just at the end of our road. It had all the hallmarks of the crank position sensor issue - the car wouldn't restart until it had been allowed to cool down.

Given it's age now I had already decided that it would be leaving the main dealer network. The CPS issue meant it really needed to be repaired locally as once the car heats up it would just stall. So given it's running issue and that it needed a service anyway I decided against taking it into the main dealer (locally I normally have a choice between MB Heathrow, Slough or Beaconsfield).

After looking at reviews for more local indies I called Terry at Wayne Gates (Alf230 here). I explained the symptoms to Terry and he immediatley confirmed that it's most likely to be the CPS but to get it into him. Although he was busy Terry squeezed us in and replaced the CPS as well as carrying out a B Service and a few other bits for me.

Terry kept me up to date on progress regularly and upon collection was greeted with a freshly cleaned W203 with a clean bill of health.

Many thanks!

Glad you got it sorted mate :thumb:

Got mine back today too :)

I've taken ours into work both days now to give it a decent run - faith restored :)
