Well, what weather..

You could actually feel the car hitting regular patches of standing water on the motorway and we were down to 40MPH at times.
Please tell me that you weren't taking those pictures in such conditons while you were driving the car?

I know the numberplate on that Aston Will ...

I'm sure it's local to us somewhere .... definately seen it before ...

it was pretty nice here - spent the morning down the garage rebuilding the back axle and lowering the "project" by about 6cms :)

Kids were playing out in the garden this evening until quite late - no rain

20 miles inland there were flash floods

In Kingston today , the road under the railway bridge on the Richmond Road was flooded to about 6 feet deep ...

There was a 3 series spinning around slowly in the current as the water drained away ...

Made me chuckle ...

Give you an idea of how much rain fell , between 11 and 12 today I opened 5 of our weir gates ... each one lets through 300 million gallons of water a day !! ...

...

This was Cranleigh Showground today where my dog agility club were meant to be setting up our annual weekend show:

This is a small show - camping limited to 200 units, 7 rings, around 900 dogs. All camping and Saturday's competition has been cancelled, we're hoping to have enough space (where the camping was meant to be) for day parking and the rings on Sunday ... provided the ground has dried out a bit.

Doggy water aerobics then, is it?

Doggy water aerobics then, is it?

Could be!

The main problem is getting the vehicles in and out ... we're used to a bit of rain and mud, and most of us have a range of footwear with different stud patterns! The dogs of course couldn't care less, well certainly the Border Collies :)

This is a show we were at last month:

I bet you'll miss the 4x4 Sharan when the Vito arrives. It is only 4x2 I take it?

Yup we had to leave the venue above midweek (to go and buy some new wellies :o ), and definitely wouldn't have got out without the 4WD. The exit roadway was 200 yds of deep mud, the wheelarches were almost packed solid :D

The Vito we have on order is RWD, when the V6 version was launched they said that engine wasn't available with 4WD ... and in fact all references to 4WD now appear to have been removed from the latest Vito range brochure

Edit: some info on the elusive Vito 4x4 here:

Shame about that 3 series hardly an old car i certainly wouldn't want to be its owner when the bill arrives, insurance will have a fit.

But that poor Aston thats just unforgivable what possesses anybody to do something so dopey i know if my old man got his in a situation like that I'd shoot him.

I was due to drive to Devon last night to visit the family for the weekend.

The M4 was moving so slowly all approach roads to it were backed up for miles around so I didn't even bother and am instead leaving in 20 minutes!

Note time of posting. ;)

All this bad weather means I'm in serious danger of being able to justify that Range Rover. :D

The crazy thing is that we have had a very few very light showers, otherwise beautiful sunshine. The M5, plus the rtailways have both been closed on the approaches to Devon because of flooding. Nice to keep our roads less congersted, but sad for all those folks that have saved all year for their holidays.

When that BMW was slowly spinning round and round, was it rotating clockwise, or anti-clockwise?

Another lovely day down here in Plymouth!

Two festivals these next couple of weekends, Lit Fest this and Maker next, so hopefully won't get toooooo muddy!
