Hi I have a c class w203 and and I pt the battery charger on the car not realising the it was on 24v not 12v I now have no electric in the car the engine starts but the fan is on and the abs pump it also will not go into gear. The abs pump stays on all the time even if I take the key out so I have to unplug to switch it off. I've changed the front SAM and still have this problem. Can anyone help or give sum direction ?? Many thanks

Did you leave the battery connected whilst charging?

Are you Callum from the other side??

Well that is why you have these issues. Mercedes are sensitive (in my experience) to battery voltages, I'm guessing fuses have been checked although it seems you may have fried something. Sorry cannot help much but someone who can should be along soon

Appart from the normal fuses I believe there are some major fuseable links in the main power connector.- continuity can be checked with an avo meter.

So does the car need to be switched off if recharging the battery using jump cables?

In my SLK there was a sticker if I recall correctly that said you cannot jump start this vehicle. Is this the reason why?

Possibly. It is good practice to disconnect the battery when charging via a battery charger, one terminal is sufficient. It prevents spikes in the voltage which can cause problems like the OP has
