What battery?

Rather than fit AGM battery have a look at EFB they are cheaper and are good if you do a lot of short journeys. They perform better than a standard lead acid battery, AGM is not generally recommended for non stop start use.
Wife and daughters cars both use EFB batteries, fitted when new from the factory, and both replaced under warranty before even 3 years old. I would not recommend them to anyone.

How do you know its draining ?
Most batteries on their last legs show up their failings when the cold weather is around, especially on a diesel.
Every owner thinks it must be a charging or drain issue, they think the battery is OK cause its been starting fine for years, first job is fit a new on, Exide EK800 is excellent product, I fitted 2 on both my cars recently, easy job, no coding and you just need to reset the one touch windows again.
On my E250 I connected a motorbike battery up whilst removing the old one to save the settings, but you don't need to.
