What can I do about a car dealer who's got my car.

That's fantastic news. Despite the prolonged delay in getting your car at least you've got it now and you have the knowledge and satisfaction that a number of key electrical components have been replaced. Think of it as preventative maintenance.

Your patience certainly is comendable - most others wouldn't be able to be as composed.

We're keen to see pictures of your new car and as you've found we're all willing to help and offer advice...

Glad to hear that everything is sorted out now.

Now post some pics. :D

Great news I've been keeping track of this thread.

Hope you can now enjoy the car

There is a God after all - well done - hope you can now enjoy many thousands of trouble-free miles.

Well done to Jay for helping oiling the wheels

In about 1000 years there will be a "Saint PaulS320CDi"; the patron saint of patience.

Having followed the thread I'm glad you got it sorted and fingers crossed that's it. Over that period of time I would have gone totally bananas.

Glad it has finally been sorted, an intesting read for anyone considering an change of car.

And while I can see you've removed the original blog, are you now going to edit this thread?:D:D

I hope it hasn't detracted from your pleasure in your new ownership and you enjoy many trouble free miles.

I don't think you need to edit the post, it tells a fact based story. And although the dealer took 4 months, he did sort things out in the end, maybe he learnt a valuable lesson, and maybe not. Forewarned is forarmed now for people who read this thread and are considering a purchase from this dealer.

Glad to hear you have now got your car back and can enjoy it.

It sounds like you are satisfied with the car, which is great, but did you get adequate recompense for time/depreciation/inconvenience ?
How much the garage spent on the car is irrelevant!

Just want to echo what everyone else has said. I've followed this thread with great interest. I'm very glad you have your car, and I think you will really enoy owning it. Also, very impressed with the help given by Jay. Absolute gentleman.

Well done, im glad its sorted... I hope they have learnt something... they could have sorted the issue within a few days and a few hundred £, instead they chose to spend thousands £ and 4 months...

Are you still giving the story to Tribune?

I don't think they have learnt anything but I shall never buy from them again so I'll never know :)

I won't be contacting the Tribune again. It is a pity really but I just want to put it all behind me now and look forward.

It's nice to be looking through my star again as I drive.
