What do i swap my E240 for?

I have an E240 petrol Estate on a 02 plate and am only getting 20-25 mpg. I love the car but really need something more economical. Any suggestions on another Mercedes swap?

Not sure why it is so bad, but even the official figures for the 2.6 engine show it to be really thirsty for a fairly modest power output.

In terms of what else to go for, MB petrol engines are not known for their economy: the diesels make more sense.

Time to change...a nice Mercedes diesel estate. Just choose your engine and spec.
