What does a seat control module do on manual seats ?

Like it says l, just picked up some w177 seats. They are 100% manual just can't work out what the module is for. I've identified the wiring for the pre tensioners, passenger occupancy sensor and air bags and they are all separate from the module. Not sure whether they are heated or not but seems alot of faff it's it's just for that ?

Thoughts ?

There's definitely such a thing called 'heated seat control module', but I obviously don't know if this the module you are referring to? If it has a part number, try Googling it?
