I'm against using a seat cutter unless its absolutely necessary.
You can clean and polish the seat to get a smooth finish so the copper washer seals correctly without cutting the seat.
Only in extreme cases where the seat has been pitted or damaged should they be re-cut.
Re-cutting lowers the injector nozzle in the cylinder changing the combustion pattern, and unless you know they have never been done before you could be cutting them for the 10th time.
I thought from the description of a pal who fitted my thermostat that I had "the black death"......check out the bodge job if injector 1 which the garage I purchased the motor from said they repaired. I think I will pay for a professional to sort then send them the bill.
Had this trouble on a 1.7.kept soaking it for about 3 days with WD 40, injector then came out easily.
My problem is actually removing the injectors [ 1 and 2 ] from the vehicle.
The heat shield is in the way and i cant see any other altrerative other than removing the turbo and top exhaust box.
Is there another way to remove them.
Thanks
I've been told heat engine hot once repaired .... it should then come away easily, is it possible at that stage to disconnect battery then blast top of engine with jet washer or can this cause problems? i'm just thinking if engine is hot the water could remove a lot of gue and in the bargain, dry off surplus water? what you reckon?
