2012 Audi S5 Cab, 2000 E320 CDI Estate [now gone] , 2010 Mini Cooper Convertible
The small switch to the right of the cigarette lighter in the ashtray has no details listed in the owners handbook. Any ideas?

The car is a W210 E Class estate

Ahh, on petrol models with a kompressor that switch is the gas pedal ;)

On the W203 CDIs you get a "Booster" with you program/activate via the on board computer/menu settings and the booster kicks in when the car is left idle and the temperature drops to X amount.

Look for "Heater Booster" in the Menu > Sub Menu... I will try and post full instructions how to get to it. However, it is supposed to use up a little bit of more diesel in the process when the car is running.;)

I'd love to see a post with all the menu options on it - I keep hearing about stuff I have never seen!

Thanks

That button was only optioned on a very limited number of 211's,by pressing that buton you get 150% more power thus avoiding to be caught by any baddies.

I get it

It's the control for an AM ejector seat with a built in toaster that also activates the 'push-to-pass' system and warms the car up when no-one is in it [so flattens the battery] that should actually be on the accelerator pedal that increases your fuel consumption etc......

MB are so tight that the cupholder doesn't even come with it, I have to pay extra.

I think I understand, but will check in the winter when it's REALLY cold.

:) :)

It’s known as the heater Booster System – it enables the vehicle to be heated up as quickly as possible. The Heater Booster system automatically activates if the outside temperature is below 8 degrees Celsius and Coolant Temperature below 70 degrees . It switches off again at higher temperatures.

To activate the Heater booster system from the Menu follow the below:

Settings Menu > select “Heater”

This will bring up “Heater Booster” Menu
Select one of following:

- AUTOMATIC
- Off With AC Off
- OFF
