What to use with Coolant Tap water, Distilled or deionized?

Don't think I would ever use tap water as the tap water around us is full of minerals.

Ah, but as deionised water is not full of minerals, it tries to collect them from your engine block; that's what makes it corrosive (that and absorbing CO2 from the air and forming carbonic acid). - Hence the important bit being the corrosion inhibitor and not what water you combine it with.

To be quite honest why does everyone rant on about not using tap water.........before it does any harm, that is if it does, you would of sold your very precious Mercedes for another one, or like me would never buy another!!.....not because of my motor being unreliable but because of later motors being a terrible money pit.
Water has to boil before it gives off any bad deposits which is 100 centigrade and motors run at 90 degrees....plenty of leeway?
