What was the first Mercedes that you owned?

Not many have had the older what I'd call the 'golden era (1960-1990)' Mercs then? as their first Merc anyway?

I'd love to get a 1970's 450SE!

For me, it all started in 1999 with a W168 A Class. Despite its "issues", I loved it from day one (actually, well before that) and kept it for almost five years.

1991 190e 2.0, bought 12 yrs ago, loved her that much i still have her now, and in just as good nick. reckon by now i should have at least given her a proper name, any suggestions.. dont say bessie.

This was my first Merc. A 1989 190E 2.0 bought in 2004 for £750 from a trader. I was out in the works van and spotted it as i drove past. I couldn't stop thinking about it all day and simply had to drop back and have a look on my way back.
A good look round it confirmed that it was lovely and with only two previous owners. After a test drive i simply fell in love with it. The screen price was £995 but i managed to haggle a price of £750 with a fresh MOT

After buying a succession of new cars for about 12 years.. Such as Polos and Seat Ibizas, trading them every three years. I fancied a Mercedes and the very first one was a 190E 1.8 manual. Shiny Jet Black in colour, very similar to WIBB’s. That got me hooked. That was around 2003/4 (so I’m still a noob even now!!)
Right now its 124’s that float my boat and comfort my ride. I keep looking at S Class 320 diesels but my wallet say stick with the 124’s.

First was a 1992 W201 auto, with 199k miles. Ran it for two years, sold it to my next door neighbour at 212k miles, he ran it for two years, then sold it to our local Merc specialist for his missus to use....still looks & goes like a good 'un!

1st car was a white W202 2 litre Esprit. First car with a/c too....didn't realise the temperature could be adjusted and got a bad cold....
Changed that to a W210 E240 - picked it up in Stuttgard in 1998.

Then left Mercs - but came back to my current one a W203 C320 cdi...still gives me a grin after 5 years.
