Whats all this about then ?

What is this Device?
It is simply a resistor chip that gives out a constant reading of air temperature to your ECU.

I suspect that it tries to trick the ECU somehow.

Ad headline says MB but examples are Peugeots...

Save yourself the £5.

I wasn't thinking of buying it  , the cars fine. I was just trawling the Ebay mercedes section and saw it.

How can just one resistor trick an ECU into giving you a power gain ? all sounds highly suspect, and i expect matey selling you it wouldn't buy you a new engine if yours expired after fitting his thing.

I 've been there and done it years ago. NOBODY ON HERE DO IT PLEASE!!!!!

Why, what happens ?

what happens is it is a 20p (or less) resistor that fools the air/temp sensor into thinking that it is colder than it actually is, result is richer mixture, same as running on choke on an older car more petrol slightly quicker at high revs maybe but not a good plan moral of story "you get what you pay for" NOT A LOT IN THIS CASE

I put one of these in my old volvo. It did seem to work but drank fuel like oliver reid used to drink ale!!!!!!! So i pulled it out and threw it away.

And yes, it is a small resister that would cost a few pence at maplins!!

Total ripp off!!!!!!!!
