No, that doesn't depend upon one's point of view at all. It either is rarer or it isn't.

Bear in mind that being a 320 CE, your car was a 'stop-gap'. That engine only went into the pre-facelift cars for a short period before the facelift was introduced (albeit slioghtly later for the cabs than the coupes, IIRC).

I agree that the pre/post facelift thing is subjective, just as is colour. It would seem, however, that more people prefer the facelifts over the older models, and I'm afraid your opinion is the only one that doesn't matter, because you are the only person who will definitely not be buying the car.

When I said "Not uncommon", that is to be taken relatively. I know of five W124 convertibles for sale with 30k miles or fewer. Three of those are E220's though.


OK understood I was thinking 320s because when I was looking for a w124 cab I would only look at 320s - there seems little point in saving a few £££ and lose the gorgeous six pot engine - the two that you know of are probably the only two in the country - which makes them a tad rare rather than common - it then comes down to the colour, spec and history. For example I bet a 27k mile late model dark colour (azurite or blue / green black with a tan interior with a full Sh would attract a huge amount of interest and would fetch over £15k
 
Very possibly, but I tend to believe that they need a credible seller to get the best money. A private seller, or a dealer not known to specialise in these cars will struggle to get top money, and probably wouldn't beat £15k very easily.

I'd actually posted before innocently ignoring the rest of the thread/car in question - was more a general statement/reference of the dealer mentioned rather than a commendation of the actual car previously discussed.

Not sure - I prefer to buy privately then you can see what the previous owner was really like - I would rather that than buy from someone like Charles ironside and pay his premium for nothing.

Fine. I won't argue. But a private seller won't get that top price. And certainly not if he markets it like this one's been so far.

DRV; you do not strike me as the sort of person that is hard up for £15k or 20k, or to whom the difference between selling the car for 10k or 20k is going to change your life. So why not decide the lowest price that you are happy NOT to have the car and then advertise it for that. If you get the price then you sell it, if not then keep it. Simple really.

TBH if you do not need the money just keep it - you will regret selling it - it will be really hard to replace it; it is bad enough tracking down a decent 70 or 80k mile one.
 
Personally, I'd keep it and just DRIVE THE DAMN THING!!! That is what it was built for after all......
