Hi All,

Will need to get the alignment checked on my car, been going to Wim, for this and the previous car, and had no complaints with them, sadly Tony has passed away, and Joe who took over has now left, so not confident with the new team now there.

Can’t seem to find where Joe is working, or if he is still in the same business. If anyone knows please do share.

Micheldever has come up a few times on the forum, for those who have used them, what are your experiences, and are they knowledgeable on mercs.

I was surprised to read a while ago that Micheldever Group is the largest independent wholesaler, distributor and retailer of tyres in the UK.

They have a number of outlets under the name ProTyre & offer some quite good deals.

I have used, and been very satisfied with Micheldever, although I now use a more local dealer whom I have found to be equally good:- Horndean Tyre Limited | Horndean Tyres

NJSS

Pro Tyre also Trade as Tyre & Auto.....I get all the business caravan tyres from them......a fair price and helpful and to be honest them being about 1/2 a miles from our gate helps!!! They do basic service on our vans/pickups too.

As mentioned before, I think they're brilliant for the technical stuff, and I happily do the 120 mile return on the A303 if I want anything done. So I go down there once every 18 months.

As an ex-Ops man, I love that you can watch the work that they're doing. Big team, lots of people who know their stuff. And entirely relaxed if you want to have a close look while the vehicles up on a ramp. Can't remember how many bays - four main ones plus maybe another four with pits.

Back in the day, albeit nearly a decade ago, they sorted out a few decade old "one owner" MB V8's that had a bit of a vibration at "higher speeds."

Depending on your timing, the Dove Inn is a very short walk away, if you need lunch afterwards.

As usual, if you can get there early, there won't be a queue. Lunchtime or Saturdays: could be a wait.

For new tyres, I've found that they are still negotiable, in the Internet age. "If" you ask.

Thanks Mike for the above, WIM were similar, very relaxed, and let you under the vehicle, and also had a viewing bay where one could see them working, and seeing the computer screen with red and green symbols.

As with independents, once we use them for a long while, and have confidence in them and their work, and for whatever reason have to use someone else, one doesn’t know how good their work will be, so hoping these guys will be as good as WIM, am in London, but don’t mind the drive if their work will be upto scratch, that’s all I ask.

After a lot of internet search, have found out where Joe from WIM is now working, Leighton Buzzard, place of work website below.

Have spoken to him this morning, and people can contact and make bookings through his email

I had 4-wheel alignment done at my local ProTyre outlet and cannot praise them highly enough. They were correcting a botched job by another supplier, see a previous post of mine. A very professional and friendly service that was also competitively priced. They are now my go-to.
