went to get the tracking done on my car today but was told that the track rod ends have seized so cannot been done. how do i get them to unseize as the tracking is out on my car. the tyre fitter told me this was a common problem on older mercs and that the track rod ends are hollow which means putting pressure to free them might cause them to break or bend. thoughts please anyone?

I had a similar problem on my 190, I think the only solution to get your track rods replaced. They are not that expensive and are around £20 each

Yep I'd replace them, after all, you are/were going to get it adjusted anyway, could be worse timing :)

is it an expensive job labour wise to get these changed?
