Hello all, Ive got a 97 W202 with standard steel wheels atm.

I've picked up some 18" AMG replicas off flebay for £150, they had just been sandblasted, so i primed them up and im just about to give them a lick of Gloss Black, on a silver car thought might look quite good.

My question is will be bolts holding the steel wheels on be ok for the alloys, I dont think they will, and where can i get some the will be ok, and what am i looking for?

Can i just go to MainStealer and ask for some alloy bolts?? Halfords? ebay?

I have no idea! lol

Any help would be great cheers.

No, the steel wheel bolts will not fit (too short) with the alloys. Best bet is to go to the dealer and get them there. Keep 5 of the original steel wheel bolts in a box with your spare wheel in case you have a flat tyre :D

Agree with post above. Have previously bought wheel nuts from another supplier and they went rusty in no time at all. Current set are MB and looking ok at present.

The Mercedes bolts are cheap, I paid just over 2 quid each. You can buy bolts from Ebay and the like, but I decided I'd prefer to have a set of bolts that were specced and quality controlled by Mercedes holding the wheels onto the car.....

When was that? I was quoted over 60 bucks for a set less than a year ago! :dk: I bought some OEM mercedes ones from a seller on ebay.

alloywheelsdirect sell the bolts for oem wheels but they may not fit your aftermarket alloys. You will need to check what type of bolts they require.

Cheers all well i called mercedes and they said the bolts they sell will not fit replica alloys.

Im tempted to try it anyway or just buy some off ebay and hope for the best. I just wanted to know what sizes to get.

Cheers

Longer wheel bolts for the 202 from dealer £2.95 each. :)

Bought some last week.......

Gina why did you need longer wheel bolts for the W202? The current bolts should be fine. Or were you just replacing the old ones?

MB original wheels need radius bolts, whereas replica wheels tend to need cone (or tapered) bolts. The difference in profile is like comparing these two shapes:

MB U

Replica V
