Wheel fitment advice

Looking to buy new wheels for my year 2000 s class, have looked at the chart and the offset for mine is 35/35 or 44/44, the wheels ive seen are from a CLS 2007 with a offset of 25/28 what will this mean to my car, chap said they will fit but not sure, any help would be good ,regards paul m

Thats a big difference in offset.

Not wrong there, looking more like there to far apart them figures to think they would fit, suppose seller would say they will just for a sale, wont be going ahead now, got to get the right fit dont want to waste money on a bad purchase
