Can anyone tell me what the following means in my Merc Handbook.

8J x 16 H2 ET32

I know that 8 is the width in inches, 16 is the whell diameter,

what about the H2 and ET 32.

Thanks

Checkout this link for an explanation.

ET number is the offset. Not sure about the H2 myself, maybe a max speed figure?

Hope this helps.

Thanks Guy, I think I will ring the stealership to check.

Will on offset change from 32 to 30 have a big impact on anything.

Probably not, it depends on the other dimensions of the wheel, but when I moved from ET37 to ET35 at the front the difference was practically nothing, the rear wheel went from ET37 to ET30 and it sat closer to the outside of the car and looked loads better, this is because the wheel was 1.5 inches wider at the rear! Are the wheels you want wider too?

Yes, the ones on my car (W203 Classic) are the steel ones with the plastic trims) 6J x 15 H2 ET31 front and rear. The ones I've been offered are front 7J x 16 H2 ET37 and rear 8J x16 H2 ET30.

The handbook says the front are ok, but the rear it has ET32 rather than ET30.

Since there are some 8.5 x 18 ET30 wheels marketed by AMG for the 203, I would guess they will fit without fouling.

Can anyone tell me whether wheels for a W202 will fit on a W203

Thanks
