Hmm.

Last time I spoke to MBenzNL he had a styling pack in storage for me (which he bought in March 2003!).

greetingz from singapore,

Let me know what you decide to buy - I might be able to help. Next week we are expecting Alhena/Continental, 5 spoke sports/90% tyres, Adharaz/tyres, new AMG IV 18"/new tyres, AMG III 18" new style (R171), AMG III 19x8.5-235/35R19 (feeling brave?) and lots more..

Hmm :)

EDIT:
I should add that even though it's not summer right now, I believe that we may have summer next year and that the wheels would be test fitted then put into storage until then :)

Well, as it's summer again and my winter tyres are starting to look like they should go into storage as they're getting close to minimum spec for winter use.

I am back to thinking about the SLK350 rims.

B6 6 47 0606 : £182.11 +VAT
Titanium silver finish, burnished; cannot be used with snow chains; cover for wide-base tyres B6 647 0128 required if not factory-fitted; not for SLK 55 AMG

I have produced another mock-up of them on my car, this is probably how they'd look except for the beefy-looking brakes:

Cheers Chris, if they were refurbished and at that price I'd consider them but the kerb damage to the rim on at least one of the wheels puts me off, depending on the discount I get on brand new ones they may still be in the running though :) . You don't happen to offer any kind of warranty on the wheels do you, only I'm worried that the lacquer might go cloudy or peel off if there is existing damage.

The wheels have the original factory finish, and as you say, there is always the risk of water ingress behind the lacquer, although wheels made in the last couple of years seem to be much better than before. They are used, and the warranty does not cover the finish. Preventative measures would I'm sure extend the life..
