Where to buy a Wahler A6422002215 Thermostat?

The Wahler part number is also on Carparts4less for £132 using the MID20 discount code.
Good spot. I gave up using them a while ago due to the discount code nonsense. The price is too high but they do confirm it is compatible with my 2012 cls.
I will be changing mine at the next service along with the fuel filter so I’m not in a particular hurry but I will chase for an answer from Wahler later this coming week if I’ve heard nothing.

Is this it ?

^ So you can get it for £165 from CarParts4Less in the UK or from Germany for £106 +delivery charge and maybe wait a week for it.

I chased and got a response. This was from Elring who are the parent company, and it was from a parts advisor rather than an engineer but these are the parts they recognise as being equivalent to A6422002215 and pointed me to a local motor factor who are an authorised distributor. They did say the Wahler item is special order with 4-5 weeks lead time.

No response to me pointing out the discrepancies on their electronic catalogue.

So is that a confirmation that 410403.92D is a correct fitment?

Confirmation that it is equivalent to A6422002215, which tallies with their own photo, Eurocarparts and the other competitor parts according to their own catalogue.

If I follow the g-wagon thread, the EPC versions online for a 2010-2015 G350 Blutec 463.336 uses Thermostat part number A6422002315. This does not have the heater and electrical plug. The Elring Ecat calls up a different equivalent Vernet thermostat (TH7285.92J), but the same 410403.92D Wahler item. Searching with the TH7285.92J number however does not list the Wahler item as an equivalent!

Personally I will be taking a chance and seeing what turns up. I suspect they've messed up the catalogue coding.

That kind of makes sense. I gave Mercedes both part numbers and they said 2315 isn't fitted to my car but 2215 is. Mine jas the sensors/heater plug on the top.

I'm going to call them again tomorrow to check the price before possibly ordering from Eurocarparts if it's cheaper.

Mercedes of Edinburgh quoted £131.82 Inc vat and postage.

Mercedes-Benz of Taunton quoted retail at £126.84 Inc vat.

Thought about going the Autodoc route but we're away for the weekend and I'd like to get it done before the trip so I'm collecting it tomorrow for £120 Inc vat 😁.

Eurocarparts is now out of stock by the way.

£120 is a decent price for the merc part.
Since I have amine on my hands to plan for my next service I will risk it from AUTODOC along with other service parts were the overall saving makes sense and I get free postage.

To close this off, mine arrived today and it is the same as the merc A6422002215 with the merc prt number ground off, just like the good old days. Made in Germany too. I paid £85 on AUTODOC.

Use the app, and buy on a Monday. If you leave items in your basket the day before they normally send a £5 voucher. I added some service items to get the free postage.

This confirms their own catalogue is wrong in terms of applicable vehicles and this cascades into most of the big suppliers. AUTODOC says it’s incompatible with my car.

I thought it would be correct but glad I got mine in a hurry from the dealers before our trip. I probably saved the difference in cost in mpg. 🤣

I left the thermostat in my basket too and I now have no end of Autodoc adverts on YouTube.

How did you find the change? I’ve done it before on a previous cls 350cdi (engine went) and the WIS guidance said take the fan out. I didn’t bother and the lower resonator bolt was a pain, as was that plastic shield that sits in a grommet at the bottom.

I also had a minor diesel leak from the filter connection that I swapped at the same time. The old OM648 is certainly better to work on and more reliable.

I found the thermostat a doddle. It was done in around 5 minutes all in. I did the Inlet & boost seals too though and I kept finding more and more things to come off before you could get to what you wanted to remove. Yes the plastic shield was one of them as I didn't want to pull too hard and break it. The fan was a pain too including the lower screw which attaches a pipe to the fan.

Have you got the later boost pipe with the nobbly bits?
