Where to get aluminium door pins?

I found a place in germany online (not matrixcar listed above) that also sold practically everything you can imagine, chromed for MB models. Darned if I can find it now though. I think I was searching for chrome SRS badges.

Where do I get a hold of either brabus door pins, brushed aluminium or chrome door pins with surrounds for a W202?

For about a quid the chrome B Class door pins, (w/out surround), fit most models including the C, A, SLK, CLK. Worth a punt for pound 'apiece;) ?

Yep, I'll see if I still have the Pt number. The polly bag's somewhere in one of my secret hiding places in my garage but I think that I have a few spare knobs lying about if there's enough to go round.

EDIT. Just found this number on an old post it note in my drawer at work. Methinks its the right one but I'll double check tonight.

000 994 0611.

EDIT EDIT. Just checked with MB Bradford and the Nos are correct. I've asked for a dozen @ 78p each + VAT so if anyones interested?????

Yep, sounds like fun. Not looking forward to pulling the door trim off my car again as every time I do it I break some more of those stupid white clips! There is a general problem with the door pins on the W202 but I don't remember what it is, I'm sure I'll remember once I've torn the car apart.

I should call in at your house sometime, do you still have that length of kitchen worktop going spare? I'm about to move into the new house and will actually have some storage space soon! :D

I'm deffo interested D - not so sure about taking the door cards off though:o

Why would you need to take the door cards off?
I just put a piece of kitchen roll in a pair of pliers and turned the old pin 90 degrees.
Surrounds need to be unscrewed, but this can still be done with the card on.

Still got the worktop, as promised, so you can have it when you call and feel free to have a rummage round everything else which we were going to car boot. Mrs P tends to 'car boot' quite a bit of good stuff but I'm no expert.

I didnt have to remove the cards when I fitted them to my SLK & A Class though,

There's no need to remove the cards ;) , you just grip the old ones, (buttons), with pliers or something similar with a bit of tissue,(or preferably card), twixt the pliers and button and un-do them. The new ones just go back on hand / finger tight. Winding the window down does make it easier. Its just the button / pin though, not the surround as well, but it does look good.

They should be here Monday.

I think this is the problem with the W202 pins ;)

IIRC Koolvin had to take the door cards off, saw the old pins off, and then glue new brabus ones on.

Maybe that was just the brabus ones.

My old 202 was done the same as my post above.
There is a little straight line on the top of the old black pins that makes it easier to know you have turned it 90 degrees;)

I know that Jerry : www.formymercedes.com sells the pins and the surrounds
In the USA the door lock pins always stand proud of the top of the door trim, the UK/euro pins sit flush when locked.

I don't know whether this is down to the pins or the mechanism beneath it..

You've got me thinking now .. I could swear the B Class in the showroom that I looked at had chromed ones, and when my car turned up was disappointed that it didn't ! But at that price ... I'm off to the dealer ! (unless you have got 4 that you want to get rid of Portzy ! - let me know !!)

The ones that are at home are deffo chrome and thats what I replaced on my A & SLK, I think that I got about a dozen back then late last year so I should have eight left in my drawers. On Friday, when I rang MB Bradford, they read back the fact that whe ones that I was ordering were still chrome, (same part nos).

We'll see today, I should have four spare, I'll let you know tmrw.
