The car is a 200ce 1994 2litre manual mainland euro spec.

Still confused about transmission kickdown relay as its a manual.

Speaking to freinds about this, we have found that black relay (003 545 53 05) taged as the "fuel pump shutoff relay". My w124's have 3 or 4 of those green relays in each of their fuse box's, so I think it is just a standard relay that can be used for anything.

Can you post a picture of where you lived up the pump from, it needs a live and earth to test it fully. Also on mine I have twin fuel pumps, is yours the same?

Hi C
Lived it up under the rear seat next to the vacuum box? Red live black earth
twin pumps not sure I cant see the pump from the ground and cant jack it up yet cause the car hasnt got a jack.
Cheers S

That relay is also for the aircon - hence the 'Klima' or 'Kli' writing on top.

The green relay is for the fuel pump.

Do not even think about working under the car without supporting it sensibly on a pair of axle stands!

Yeah mate .Got my axle stands and trolly jack ready for tomoz.
Day off yahoo!

Hello

Ok today.Checked cleaned and gapped plugs 0.8
All good and a good spark.

Had a look at the green FPR and sprayed electrical contact spray on all pins of any relay I could see.

Decided to try jumping 30+87 pins again no joy.
Then decided to try a direct feed to the fuel pump neg earth.
Being a 2 door LEFT HOOKER I moved the passenger seat forward so I could gain better access
to the fuel pump cable which is under the rear passenger side seat beside the vacuum box.
I squeezed my fat a**e in to sit on the floor behind front passenger seat, lent in to connect feed and put my forearm on the floorpan? where the seat sits on top.
The petrol tank I take it is below this. In the middle the floor/seat pan
it was HOT!
Mmmm would that be where the fuel pump is?Directly underneath this part of the car.

To me I think that the pump has siezed hence the heat?
Another thing I don't seem to be getting any power to the cable but heat at the floor pan.

On fuel pump relay there's power at No30:wallbash:

Again please remember the car had NEVER been turned over in approx 4.5 years.:(

The fuel tank is inside the car, upright, behind the rear seats.

Not sure why the floor pan would be getting hot though, the fuel pump itself is under the car in the apperture made by the rear seat being higher than the floor pan.

Can you post a picture of the plug that you are giving power to, just incase it is a different layout.

Thanks for reply.
Yes the thats the place that was hot.The higher bit.
I thought that might be where the FP is.
.
The cable is the only part of the loom beside the vacuum box.

Pics tomoz

Morning.

That is the cable to the diff mounted rear ABS sensor - not the fuel pump.

Wires to the fuel pump should be brown and black/red (possibly black/red/white or black/red/purple).

Thanks Alex.
Would they be in the same area or the otherside under the other seat.

She started! Ran for about 15-20 seconds.slowly took her up to 2000rpm then let her find idle. Dropped to about 800rpm up to1200-500 then stalled :(
As if there was not enough fuel.
Put another 5ltrs in and no start.
Coughing and nearly starting????? So basically HAPPY DAYS!

Cant be much now and she sounded very good when she ran :)

What do I do now please?

BIG THANKS again for all the help Guys.
