which car would you go for

For the circumstances you are outlining then is the estate car the best method of carrying such a cargo?

An estate car can be, or is a great family vehicle and I doubt there are many new E-class estates that are used in the way you used you Volvo.

John

In terms of damage to the goods I carry, then an estate car is much kinder than a van. Plus I did not have to have 2 vehicles and a van stuck out side.

Dont get me wrong for the V70R is in very good condition both inside and out, but a MB would not have stood up to it so well.

Interestingly I filled my 300TE to the top on many long trips and work, but the inside of that was more like the V70R that I have now.

The V70R with the spec that I have cost £39k back in 1998 so not a cheap car

Number 1 but I'm biased.

If your thinking of getting it then check to see if it has the electric tailgate opening option as the tailgate is quite heavy.

which one would you go for .....after the ****e year and my accident going to treat myself ...... stuff the money ..as they say you only live once ........i think my blue badge would look very nice on any of there dash boards....

all of them are 04 05 ...this is when they got a bit better at reliablility ...... and all of them will carry 4 + baggage ..... and the caravans had to go ..... no laughing it was a sad day

...Now I am going to sound a bit like Simon Cowell here...yes we only live once and I do not know your financial status but to spend that sort of money on a car that looks ( we are talking about looks / stret cred ? ...cos you certainly cannot race it in Browns nannny state ) . .... a 6 / 8 grand ...car at the most. ? is pure bonkers. Save your money in case you need it one day..I think there is more satisfaction buying older merc...better reliability and just as much street cred with an older merc...Sorry if that sounded blunt but this is only my opinion.
Happy motoring :D

I think that is the opinion of those incapable of thought, but I know your just saying it for a reaction.

Old age pensioners don't usually drive supercharged 5.5 ltre vehicles, capable of 0 - 60mph in roundabout 5 seconds and of course drinking petrol quicker than I can drink a pint of rum   but never let that spoil a good story.
