Plugs are due for a change but cannot find the correct type to fit! have looked in manuals to no avail can anyone help?

If you want to know what the Bosch part code is, it should be on a sticker on the ECU. That's towards the back of the engine bay on the right hand side. Otherwise go to sparkplugs.co.uk (or whatever it's called) and enter your car details. If memory serves the code is BKUR5ET.

Nope, that's the NGK equivalent. D'oh!

Any half decent motor factor will be able to tell you what plugs you need and will also keep them.
In fact i bet even halfords do:D.

Try calling the dealer, as parts counter's can be fairly helpful and often prices can surprise you. At least then you know what you need to get prices from elsehere.

You can look up NGK, Denso and Champion fitments at Spark plugs UK - Champion, Denso, NGK spark plugs and Magnecor leads but not Bosch. For example NGKs suggested above are confirmed on this website:

Make MERCEDES BENZ
Model C200
Production Year 98-->
Engine Size 2.0
Variant 202 Series
Engine Type M111.945

Standard: BKUR5ET £3.86 + VAT each
Irdium: BKR5EIX £5.90 + VAT each

dunno, but i got some Bosch Spark Plugs for my 107 last year and it worked out the same price at the dealer than ECP (roughly). May be worth checking out.
