White smoke coming from exhaust

I recently replaced the turbo on my W210 '02 E220. During the change I noticed that there was oil in the exhaust manifold leading to the turbo and that there was a fair bit of oil in the catalytic converter.

When I started the engine after fitting the turbo it started belching white smoke from the exhause. I ran the car for about 10 minutes hoping the smoke would clear but if anything it got worse. I took the new turbo back off and there was oil in the exhaust manifold again.

Does anybody what the problem is please.

No, it was a re-manufactured unit, the centre housing and rotor assembly was new.

I had the same problem, their is sometimes excess oil still in the engine and needs to be cleared out via driving.
