Hi Guys
I wonder if anyone on here can give me some advise
I have a 1989 190 had the head redone but upon starting when the engine get hot it just release a lot of white smoke, switch off engine get cool no smoke as soon as the engine is up to temp smoke and thought please:wallbash:

Thanks

It would seem as though there is still a problem with the cylinder head or gasket,as white smoke is water getting into the cylinders when hot, did you get the head pressure tested? as it may be cracked.

Had the same on a previous car, cracked head was the cause.

Presume op has a petrol 190,white smoke on a diesel is not related.

Are you loosing coolant? and any water to oil transfer(sludge) or oil in coolant?

Is it loosing coolant? Does the coolant smell of combustion gasses?

What was the original problem with the engine/head? Was there corrosion when it was stripped down?
