Will this look silly?

I'm thinking about getting just the rear apron of the reiger bodykit put on my W202, but I'm worried it'll look a bit weird. It's an Esprit model, so it's already lower than the Classic/Elegance, but what I'm concerned with is that the contours of the rear won't match the front, or more specifically, the sides.

Here's a pic of the rear with the apron on:

As you can see, there's a 'bump' around the left and right sides (you can see more of it on the left obviously) at the bottom of the apron, and this continues on the left and right skirts. Will it look strange with the standard Esprit skirts?

It will look fine with a crome tax disc holder, Neon under lights, sliver wipers, massive spoiler, big crome alloys and any other 'Barry' Mods :)

Also be aware that the Rieger kits are designed for pre-facelift cars, AFAIK, might require some bumper mods over the usual in order to fit the kit if it's going on a facelift model (you mentioned sideskirts...)

Dr. AMG put a reiger kit on a W202, and it didn't look barry at all.

I've found a place where you can buy facelift rear aprons, but I probably won't get the whole kit, so I don't need skirts. I'm just worried the skirts will look 'plain' in comparison with the kick ass back. :D

Am i missing something????

Why just the rear??

Might it look a little strange with just the rear beefed up???

Front and rear would look ok IMHO.

To get a real Barry car you need to start with something really shite..

Owner of the current "Shed of the Week" must be a boon to those who support Eugenics.

I think it all depends if the lower line of your aprons and skirts match up or not. If not then it'll look pants - imho - if they do - then you might get away with it. If they don't match it'll look ike you've just stuck a front end and back end onto a diff middle

It's the cut-and-shut look! ;)

IMHO if the valances are a similar depth then you can mix match styling parts from different tuners and it can make for a very stylish and unique car, fusion-tuning or something :)

Iyse

it'll look gud if you pull it off the way 'the doc' has, otherwise it'll look abit off odd, gud luck anyhow

Iyse,

I purchased the full Reiger body kit and Evo boot spoiler for my Calibra, I also lowered it and put on 17" alloys. The only problem I had was that the car was so low that I could not get the car jack under it. I now have a CLK and also fancied the full kit as the AMG kit is both expensive and not so dramatic as the Reiger Kit anyway the main problem you will have if you purchase the side skirts is there are no square holes and covers in the skirts to allow the Merc jack to go into the jacking points. I hope this will help you decide the kit fits like a glove and also depends on who fits it.

Good Luck

Regards

Andy
