Mercedes Window Button.jpg
Hi, I'm hoping someone can help. I have a C220 (W205) and unfortunately when using the window button on the Driver's Side console to close the Front passenger window, it pulled off in my hand and broke. The mechanism inside works fine, but the plastic button is broken and won't fit anymore. On the driver's side are 4 buttons for all 4 windows, but I only need the button for the Front Passenger window for the console. I'm probably overdoing it in trying to explain this, but it's not been easy trying to explain it to various traders I've asked about this, suffice to say without success. Does anyone know where I can get this part in the UK? I've attached a picture of the button.

A bit obvious, but have you tried the main dealer?
It's surprising the small parts they do stock.

To be honest it broke off today and I've only spent this afternoon on it - looked online to try and get it asap, then telephoned anyone who's selling anything similar. My initial thought was Eurocarparts and was surprised they don't do it. I assumed the main dealers wouldn't stock it because it's a small part but that's probably my mistake. I'll try them tomorrow though.

That’s the type of part you will only get from a main dealer!

Eurocarparts would never stock such a small and relatively obscure part, dealer only or breaker.

Just beware of cheap Ebay button replacements. I got one for my C class, didn't match original at all - good advice, get a proper one from a MB dealer!

Individual switches not available separately from MB, it's a whole switch pack. So it depends on whether you broke the button or the plastic that holds the button as to whether you can use one of those eBay spare switches.

For anyone else searching for the answer to this. The ebay ones fit and work fine. They click into place with the switchpack in situ. You have to make sure that all the old bits of broken plastic from the old switch are gone or it won't click in. I only found this out by removing the whole switchpack, you can do it without removing door card, it just levers out, to find a piece of plastic preventing the new switch from clicking in.
I got these ones in case anyone needs some the ones on each side are the same and interchangeable i.e. both left ones are the same and both right ones are the same

I also have three left over and a complete OEM switch pack in case anyone needs those (long story!)

As stated in my previous post complete with illustrative photo, the fit and operation was not the issue. The issue is that it did not LOOK the same as the OEM one!

My reply was aimed at the original post. Yours is a different mode entirely.

Hi there, stumbled across this thread as I'm having a similar issue. Don't suppose you have any of the buttons still spare do you ming666? Bought one off ebay but it looks really cheap and doesn't match the other buttons. I could do with a right button for the driver window if you have one

I do but I'm keeping them in case of future failures. The ones in link to above are an exact match for the OEM ones.

I had the driver window button fail on my S205 on a very rainy day in November. Window went down when using barrier ticket but window would not close. Not wanting drive in the wet with window open thought I was going to have problems then I remembered press and hold the recirculate air button, window closed.
looking up button replacement on the web I could see that the button caps are easily popped off using a screwdriver blade with cloth under to protect the other buttons. New buttons pop back into place. I ordered a new button from EBay from UK seller. Fast delivery and no noticeable difference in the finish. Has worked well since November and only £7.50 for the repair. Seems a better option for out of warranty cars than a new switch block, door card off and all the trouble of going to the dealers.

just FYI you don't have to take the door card off. At least not on my C class

No problem, cheers. Did you order the ones from China?
The ones in the link above and yes they came from China
The attached photo is it with the replacement switch fitted. I can't even remember which one it was, top right I think

Hi fella, I have bought the buttons, how easy are they to fit? Is there a method? I am very clumsy and doubt want to break them! Thanks
