hi guys - the window assembly broke on my w208 ( x reg) so rather than drilling it out sourcing and refitting one i managed to get another complete door and swopped them instead, the swop went well except for the window ( drivers by the way) will go to the top but will then drop 2" , ive tried the "holding down & up the switch" for a period of time so as to reset it. its the type that should drop and rise slightly when opening and closing the door ! i should add that ive changed the window switches panel as well just incase it was a faulty switch. i dont really want to get another window regulator/lifter unless i know its faulty because it was all working fine before the lifting assembly
broke !
oh and what is the yellow/green plastic tube that connects on to the grey nozzle ?

i should add that ive tried disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes or so hoping for a reset !

Bearing in mind that the drivers window is the most used window for ups and downs I would have thought that replacing the mechanism was a wiser option and it is not a difficult job. Last time I replaced the window mechanism on my 210 300TD which was some years ago, it took me about an hour. Mechanism was about £70 IIRC but at least there was another lifetime of us and downs with it.
Your new door, has it the same components inside?? Have you broken a wire whilst swopping the doors over.? You might end up swopping parts out of the original door back into your replacement one, which I presume electrically worked ok.
