Hello, any good ones in Kent or south london?
Thanks

its against the law to do it, apart from the rear screen and the 2 small triangle bits, if you get stop by a cop with nothing better to do he will make you remove it on the spot

Actually you can tint anything behind the B pillar.

Would that be nothing better to do other than stop you carting a cyclist or pedestrian one night due to the less than ideal vision with your tinted almost black windows?

And which small triangle bits do you mean??

Anything behind the 'B' pillar and you can paint it black if you wish.

When you have seen idiots driving around with front windows with a light transmission of less than 10% you wouldn't think it was such a waste of Police time.

And I don't make anyone remove it on the spot. They are more than welcome to leave their car and walk home. And yes, I can do that.

Plodd.
Given that I think this is actually a good use of Traffic police, why do I still see so many cars with dark tinted windows?

On Friday I walked past a parked car and could only just make out the driver and had to look hard even then.

We are trying but due to a lack of the device we use for testing it is slow going. My unit only has 3. I believe they cost in excess of £1000 each which seems unbelievable as it's nothing fancy.

A few people we stop do actually admit that reversing in the dark can be a little tricky.

Surely just a piece of card with a graduated scale fro 'Pass' to 'Fail' would work , you just slide it up the window until you can see ....

Can you normally tell at glance - even without the device - which cars would fail the test?

Quite easily now.

There are so many about now that we do tend to only go for the worst offenders.

We can actually prosecute WITHOUT the tester but tend not to. Our opinion would be enough.

Thank you all.

I have looked up the site and good advice - the rear window will be number 3, and rear doors/quater, number two and just touch up the front.

I'm fully aware of the safety issues, thanks!

I too have seen fools drive around and they have to open the window to see out.

I'm keeping the tints to a minimum

What, like "factory standard"?
