windows vista problem

ive bought a toshiba x200 20s,it has 2 260gb hdd's,i thought ill install xp pro on the second hdd and select which ever on boot.cant be done due to there are no intel matrix storage drivers in vista and toshiba say if i di manage to install xp it would void the warranty as the laptop is designed for vista only.
not having a good time with it,if anyone can help id be very gratefull,im based in manchester

Hi, you can do it; its not easy though, especially for the faint hearted. You first have to shrink the vista sector then install XP, this then "buggars up" your laptop boot process, you then fix the "buggar-up" and reset your boot.
You can find out how to do it here

I appreciate your problem; I had this problem and my answer was to download the free virtual PC from Microsoft. The allowed me to install a virtual XP machine- I could then run my XP software.

I have since tried this on a Apple MAcbook PRo - using Bootcamp to load vista and then Xp inside on a virtual machine - worked a treat!
( And yes with bootcamp I could have just loaded XP in the first place - but hey life would boring that way)

I bought a brand new "designed for Windows Vista" laptop and have still had a shocking experience so far. Pile of steaming xxx as far as I am concerned.
