Keep getting bits of info from Microsoft about it (just yesterday in fact), but it's reported to be buggy and v - e - r - y s - l - o - w. Need a monster machine to run it, but that's to be expected for software that's about 12 months away from release. Think I'll wait awhile before trying it. It's going to be a massive PR event when it is released; probably as big as Win95 was. Vista website's a bit nice

I have windows x64 running on my turion mt37 notebook, but drivers are very tricky for consumer hardware.
I am currently testing Vista as part of my job is to build RIS (remote install images) for my company to use on production of pc's
It is not much different to xp, drivers are few and far between (ati and nvidia have some) but the new ui is not on any of the builds i have seen
