Afternoon all, i have come across a problem with the wipers on my clk270 cdi 2003, in that when i use intermittent it is not intermittent. it will keep going for about 10 wipes or so them maybe stop in the middle of the screen. The other speeds do exactly the same 10 wipes ish then stop.
I have just replaced the stalk because of the not staying on indicator. so it is not a stalk problem. Someone said it could be the wiper motor but to honest i really cant see that. I also disconnected the rain sensor and that did not make any difference also. So i am kinda stuck. Any advise please

Thanks Martin

There would be a relay for the wiper motor somewhere in the fuse box, try locating and replacing it.

I replaced the Relay, still the same problem. can anyone help ?

Your problem does sound quite like the motor in the video below.
Worth investigating, it’s a different car but same principles.

"The windshield wiper on my son's Mercedes w202 would sometimes continue running when switched off...after 10 or so wipes it would eventually stop, and sometimes stop in the wrong spot...this is the fix for that problem"

I would try Dec's suggestion above - especially as Dec says, the video mentions the ten or so wipes before stopping.

By the way, no difference when disconnecting the rain sensor could also mean that signals from the rain sensor are not reaching the wiper mechanism even when connected. These signals pass through the Overhead Control Panel and CANBUS to the front SAM. Let's hope its contamination in the wiper motor contacts as shown above.
