Winter Driving

You would think that this vehicle would have had the right wheels / tyres…

It probably did, it just had the wrong driver.

Snow tyres ready. Bring it on.

I was after one of those for ages, in particular the V6 one, but couldn't get one at the right price/time so ended up with this lump instead, as I don't fancy the Merc too much in adverse weather conditions.

Winter tyres already on it as bought. :)

Zero snow here last winter so no problems.

Previous winter I used my 4x4 Hilux a lot. Not even worth thinking about moving the MB or the BMW.

Rather than spending money on winter wheels/tyres, why not buy a cheap AWD vehicle which could be sold in the spring?

Because it's all about the tyres!!!!

Thank you. Mine is. 3.5 V6 Petrol. Also has factory adjustable lift and shocks. Great truck.

driving in snow is not that difficult, front drive, rear drive, all drive, if you are gentle with the car you will be fine.

As long as you don't have to stop suddenly, or you don't have to start on a slope.

Basic physics apply to life in general.

Snow maybe but not if there is any ice underneath. Both c class Estate I had and current e class Estate totally useless wouldn't even get out of office car park or up drive at home. Yes mercs are poor in such conditions though most cars can handle fresh snow or the gizze type motorway stuff where all you need is smooth and careful driving. The thread is pointless and aired to death. There are those who wouldn't be seen dead with winter tyres and those who recognise that if it is cold enough they are more effective. No one ever changes their views so it is all pretty pointless!

That wasn't smooth and careful driving, that was hammering it with Dunlop Wintersport 4D's fitted. :D

I reckon we saw over 100 cars pull over as they couldn't get up really shallow gradients that day.
