Winter Economy

The meter calibration is spot on.

In the first few months of ownership, I carefully compared my actual fuel bills to the trip computer readings and they were remarkably accurate - against my expectations, really. :)

My car is proving very cheap to run in this weather -- its so miserable out I stay indoors in the warm......dead cheap motoring....:bannana:
Snap Crokers,--c270 :) last 4000mls average reads 43.7mpg so re map and light foot is working .quiet chuffed with those figures.last car was a e220 manual chipped and was even better average on a 250 mile trip was about 50mgp at steady moterway speed?.

Likewise here - with plenty of conservation of momentum through the corners

Good visibility, empty roundabouts a speciality….:D

But Malcolm.....put a gallon of diesel in yours and it will last forever..............................you wont go anywhere but the fuel will last...:D

People should not be allowed to post these kinds of pictures

If that should not be alllowed, then this should be banned, probably because it is not a Mercedes:devil:

Vectra Diesel...?

Most I've achieved from my E34 this winter is 36mpg, on a run; going work and back everyday, still doing aroung 30-31mpg, which isn't bad for a 6 cyl petrol...!

During the Suez Crisis in the 50's. I used to empty roadside lamps into the car, making a 50-50 mix , sure there was lots of white smoke and not that much power and the pinking was deafening, other than having to fill the carb with petrol for the cold start of the day there was no problem.

That car was only 2 liter, the SL is 5 :):)

So the SL takes 2 1/2 times as many lamps?
