I've done a bit of reading up on this however I'm no expert, so I'm hoping someone with the proper knowledge can confirm my understanding is correct (or not as the case may be!)
I've a 2011 W204 C-Class C250 CDI saloon.
It's the UK 'Sport' model with standard 7-Spoke AMG alloy wheels in a staggered set up as follows -
Front - 8J x 18 ET50 rims with 225/40 R18 tyres
Rear - 8.5J x 18 ET54 rims with 255/35 R18 tyres
I've now bought a set of winter alloy wheels and tyres.
These too are genuine MB items ('Proserpina's and compatible with the W204), in a square set up of 17 x 7.5" ET47 with 225/45 R17 tyres.
This is one of the recommended 'winter' set up choices for my model as quoted in the owners manual so I'm content the wheel / tyre spec's are correct fitment
Foolishly one aspect I didn't consider before buying was if my existing wheel bolts, used to attach the standard 18" wheels will be compatible with the new 17" 'winter' wheels or do I need to buy different size replacements?
The chart below seems to suggest all wheel / tyre combinations for my model use the same size bolts (M14 x 1.5) in which case the answer to my question is no, however I'd prefer confirmation before any actual driving is done.
