Hi,
I drive a 2001 Mercedes W210, E class, 320 cdi.
The problem is my front wiper is not working.
The motor is working, you can hear it when you turn on wipers.

It was dark when I looked at it but is there some linkage in the arm that might have uncliped that would prevent the wiper from making its sweep of the window.
In other words can I Strip it and reconnect what ever has loosened or would I need a new mechanism.

Going to look at it in morning first thing so would need any advise out there.
Thank-you,
Brian..

The likely fault is a lose nut either 1 or 2, in picture below has sliped or become lose.

Turn the wiper off at the stalk switch so that the wiper motor is in the park position before you remove it from the car.
Realign the alignment marks and adjus nut 1 and or nut 2 as illustrated in picture below.

Hi, Thank-you Dec.
Great detail in your reply.
Stripped the Mechanism this morning. The problem is the Ball joint. The ball keeps coming out of the joint if this makes any sense.
Tried putting it back in and refitting and strting the wiper but it came out again.
Thank-you again,
Brian..

I have that linkage part, ball and socket as seen in above picture between nut 1 and nut 2.
You can have it if you don’t have any luck finding one elsewhere.
