Hi all,

Noticed yesterday when checking my oil and water, that one of the wires had broken off the plug that goes into the sensor on the Intercooler pipe at the front of the engine at the top!

What is this sensor, and will i be ok driving it with the wire broken?

Will i need a new sensor or is the wiring another part?

The car in question is my w202 c250 td

Thanks

Jon

The wire has broke off right at the base of the plug, it seems to be quite brittle as the wire is frayed and the casing is really cracked.

i think i might be able to cut the wire further back and crimp new wire, if i can get into the plug that is!

I think its an Air temprature sensor or something of the sort, would driving with the wire broken for now do any harm only for a couple of days at most.

Ive had a look on EPC and it is the Intake Air Temperature sensor,

What would the effects of this not working due to the wire being broken? Until I get a chance to look at repairing the wire.
