Anybody using this and know how to find out how check model designation.
On my clk 230 kompressor they list 4 model designations. 208347,208348,208447 and 20844i, how do i find out which one covers my car. Thanks

Check your VIN:

e.g.: WDC2030462R2xxxxx

WDC, WDB, etc - Manufacturer code

203, 208, etc - model code (in your case the model code is W208, so the number showing will be '208')

046 - engine designation.

2R2 - plant code (I think)

xxxxx - serial number

So if you VIN is (say) WDB208347R123456, then your model designation is 208.347 - hope this helps.

Markjay's post is the way to identify the model, but it's always nice to know the original options.

If you post your VIN up, someone will post your data card from WIS/EPC, see this thread from earlier today:

http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/general-discussion/210930-options-list.html

208.3xx are coupe versions, 208.4xx are convertibles.

I believe there were two engines with 3bhp difference and 347 had 722.605 auto gearbox, 348 had 722.616. Your vehicles data card will identify which you have from the actual engine and gearbox numbers.

Many thanks, mine is a soft top will check vin number tomorrow.

xx8 model versions were introduced in May (348 coupe) and June (448 convertible) 2000.

Main differences were 111.982 (M111Evo) engines and 6 speed manual gearbox (716.6)
