Won't be buying OEM pads again

I can supply all EBC brake parts and goodridge hoses. The combination of the pair on standard claipers is impressive

Tudu is getting some bespoke hoses made for him via PCS.

I should get them in a week or so.

Looks like I missed a shift from Redstuff to Redstuff Ceramic.

However it sees that the Yellowstuff pads still outperform the redstuff ceramic in every department except dust. I remember using redstuff a couple of years ago and actually being worried by the feel from cold, Yellowstuff have never given me any anxiety.

Personally I would rather clean my wheels more often than my shorts :)

I can confirm red pads work well without any problem regarding need to get hot first - just feels like normal Merc standard issue pads in use.

Just about to change the front and read pads on my C200 W203 Avantgard so to avoid any doubt what should I ask the garage to fit please. Seems like green but would help if I had a detailed description I think. All help appreciated. :)

The green stuff is what I have on my car. They are more expensive than oem pads but much better with regards to dust and braking effect.

And in my experience disk wear. Mine are much smoother and shinier than with regular pads, but appear to be wearing less.
Does anybody notice this with theirs.?

Based on the comments in this thread for your car (<200bhp) you should go to greenstuff pads.

I've had the greenstuff pads and braided hoses fitted by Olly (along with some ATE grooved discs :D) and the stopping power is noticeably improved. not got full contact from the pads to discs yet (did 2k on new pads before replacing discs...oops!) but they're still much better.

Less dust too, as said i dont know why merc. dont use something more similar as standard?! Will not be going back to OEM, and when the rears go, they will be on the green'uns too :)

I believe it is not just power but weight of car also, which reflects the need for red pads.

As we all know Mercs tend to be heavy (when new anyway, but as they age modern Mercs get lighter due to rust eating the bodies away of course).

I have had G-s F & R fitted to my C200k and they have performed brilliantly both in terms of performance and the dreaded brake dust. If you are about to change i would have no hesitation in fitting Green stuff front and rear.

Just found this thread- missed it when I was on leave.
Very helpful, thanks, will fit G-s at next change

Personally i think the OEM pads are fine. Ok they do make the wheels a bit dirty but they stop just fine... I do want to try out this "green stuff" pads before i say anything.. but i remember reading somewhere on a jap car forum that they aren't meant to be that good.. (think it was nissan skyline owners club or something, cant remember)
