I'd like to swap out the 17" wheels on my W211 E320 with some E55 AMG type VI or the w211 E63 AMG VI wheels, is anyone sat on a set that they'd like to move on ?

Looking for a staggered set with 8J ET30 and 9J ET39

Cheers,
Woody

Hello woody, welcome aboard. I happen to have a very nice set of wheels that came with my E55 W211, not to sure whether they are the style your looking for, I always get confused by the five and ten spoke alloys that were standard on my motor. I have the 5 spoke spare if your interested. I’m not sure how to send pics on here, but if you have WhatsApp I can manage that. Matt.

Thanks for reaching out Matt much appreciated, ideally I'm looking for the 10 spoke e55 wheels or the 5 spoke e63 wheels, although I'm beginning to think they may look a little silly on an Avantgarde spec car.

No worries mate, let me know if you want pics. Funny enough, after having them prof refurbished I thought they didn’t quite fit the brut, so I swapped to 10spoke which most E55 seem to have. Let me know if you decide otherwise, and I can send you pics of inside/outside and all the relevant stamps and numbers. Matt.

Thanks Matt, I am watching 3 sets of then currently on fleabay so I'll have a think over the weekend, but at the moment I'm leaning towards the 10 spoke if I do change them.

I can see this all ending with the acquisition of an E55 at some point.

Yes, your going to have to pull the trigger at some point my friend.

Don't forget the extra budget for tyres and the change in pot hole ride as you switch from 17's to 18's, 19's or even 20's....

London and Surrey's potholes effectively disappeared when I switched back to an E500 on 17's this Spring.

I've managed to cobble together a set of w211 E63 wheels, strangely a guy up in Chester was selling three and a guy in Essex was selling one rear wheel which gives me the set, now I get a nice long road trip testing out the new motor touring the country picking up wheels.

I completed a round trip of 500 miles today to pick up the 3 alloys from Chester, they're in good nick in terms of curb rash (none at all) although the white work has taken hold. The extra rear alloy that I picked up through eBay appears to be from a stalwart member of this forum, ALPS. I'll post some before and after pics.

I finally picked up the wheels last weekend, they really do need a refurb but I've decided to run them as is for a while to mull over whether I want them refurbed to factory finish or go with a powder coat in a single colour. They'll be going onto the car on Monday when it's booked in for new tyres.

The naked one looks smaller,
that's a handy optical illusion that many people would take advantage of.

factory finish is best imo on these as the diamond cut really pops in the sun.

one of the lightest wheels for the w211

The naked wheel in my set is your old one Alps, I only realised last week when I noticed your username on an old thread I was reading, small world.

They do look stunning factory and have had a quote from a very good refinisher of £120 plus VAT per wheel to do them, not sure if that's competitive or not as I haven't had any wheels done for 10 years.

I use a local place for all my wheels, wheelworx in colchester, 01206617271 give Scott a ring and say Alps sent you, might be worth the drive down!

Fitted the alloys today with new Pilot Sport 5s all around, they will need a refurb but I'm happy to leave that for a while. They've definitely transformed the look of the car, making it appear more youthful.

I do but I'm hanging onto them as a spare set, they're mint with new conti sports on them but not worth much on the used market.
