XJS...bit classy isn't she for Punto money?

A rare find for one with so little mileage. I had the facelift XJS V12 in 1996. A very smooth drive but depreciation was a problem at the time. They seem to be going up now though :)

Some monkey put a tow bar on it.....sheesh, on an XJS...I dunno

I was looking at XJSs last year before a friend suggested I look at 124s - different thing altogether - the ones I saw were half the price with twice the miles and wear. For some reason I always liked the look of them although I'm glad I chose the CE as its a bit more practical.

I owned a Series 3 XJ6 4.2 - it was and still is the best riding car I've ever driven. Like a magic carpet.

I'd really like to get hold of a good S3 4.2 Sovereign to restore.

I'd love a V12 XJS - not brave enough just yet - and that's from a Maserati owner!

Great car but they're cheap for a reason...

Friend had one top of the range 4.2 from new, first MOT it failed, £2k to get it through

Dealer offered £6k in part exchange for a Mazda.....

The soft ride is the only one to make me feel car sick!!..

Looks Lovely, I used to have a 4.2 ser 2 manual, with Koni shocks all round it was the best ride of any car I have ever driven. I have always fancied a 4 litre XJS convertable.

Some monkey put a tow bar on it.....sheesh, on an XJS...I dunno

Probably so that the driver can tow his own courtesy car, save time I guess!

Actually I do really like these motors.

At around 8-10mpg, no wonder its only got 32K on the clock.
Thats simply far too high nowadays - even for a casual runaround.

Is that what the figures are ???? !!

I know James May's XJS on the Top Gear challenge was doing 8mpg .... but that was because it was a POS ....

Not 'arfff. She's a beauty.

Always had a soft spot for these - so unfair to compare it to it's predecessor when launched.

I don't doubt the early BL build quality was in the same league in terms of speed, quality, and cost as me and Dazzler Snr could manage, but just look at it!!

My father-in-law had a brand-spanking-new E-reg (previous style lights) and it was gorgeous.

Officially it was supposed to be around 12-16mpg, but a friend of mine a few years back had one, and he said if driven with a modicum of verve, would only return about 8.
The same bloke owned a range rover a while back and he worked out that a round trip up to Scotland and and back with 4 up and their luggage only just about got into double mpg figures.
Mind you he did like to push it a bit.

that car is like Korean meatballs....the mutts you-know-whats!!

Fuel consumption is simply horrendous on these I believe. WONDER IF A LPG CONVERSION IS A POSSIBILITY? Just like the w124 cabriolet the convertibles are still firm price wise. Lovely car tho!

That looks fantastic. Where I used to live someone living nearby had an immaculate M reg XJS V12 in black which I always looked at with a degree of respectful envy. Very classy cars.

One of the Consultants where I work has an immaculate late Carnival red XJS like the Pistonheads one.

With a nice private plate it still looks classy and beautiful still, not rusty yet either!

I think that's one of the things that makes you appreciate the clean ones, you know that the owner must look after it very carefully and they obviously cost a fortune to maintain and run ;)
