Car
2017 Audi RS6 Avant Performance Edition. Range Rover Supercharged - Lovely!
My first steed was a Morris Marina 1.3 Van.

Not that I'd want to buy one, but I could find just one for sale on ebay. LINK.
Not far off £2,000, which is roughly what we paid for it at 3-4 years old I should think.

Can you find a model of your first car for sale anywhere?

I genuinely thought this was my old car when first looking at the location, then I spotted the mileage. Mine was on 60,000 when the fuel pump gave in and I replaced the car with a white xr3i cabriolet, miss the old girl

Just spotted a 1963 minivan for sale at £9500.. I paid £40 for mine in 1969. it needed a couple of valves replacing , which a mate did for me at the vauxhall garage where he worked. He skimmed the head and re-seated all the valves for £2.10s. I think I gave him £3 . (well he did fit it back together for me!).

My first car was made in 1958... my second car in 1965.

In the late eighties I spotted the 1965 car at a breakers yard while driving by....

This was the nearest I could find although mine was a 71/J and white:

VAUXHALL VIVA HC 32,000 miles from New ! For Sale (1972) on Car And Classic UK [C676185]

I'm not counting the Morris 1300 I owned briefly ... I only drove that on the road twice - to the MOT station, then to the scrapyard :D

That's actually quite a well styled car for that era. Perhaps inspired the Magnum which, as teenager, my mate had the 2300 version in deep blue/silver. Put my Marina to shame.

LOL the two journeys in the Morris 1300. :D

Edit: Ahem! 43 years old and never painted or welded. ;)

That's a very clean car...but with 32000 miles the switches are worn. Of course in 1972, 32000 was high mileage for one of these.

Back in the days when a teenager could get insurance on such a car:

Jaguar XJ6 (1971) - Ref: 12814 from classiccars.co.uk

And probably afford to fuel it.

Of course I could afford the fuel - I was still living at home ! And with careful driving I could get at least 20mpg.

I used to get worried looks at the petrol station when, having filled up the left-hand tank, I'd get in and start the car before moving across to the other set of pumps to fill the right-hand one. They obviously thought I was about to drive off without paying.
