Hello
Looking at getting some new tyres for some alloys I have aquired. These will be for a S211.
I do approx 4K miles a year,
Now I've had a quick look and
Fulda

Then I looked at these (and we put these on the front...
As many of you young timers and old timers might be aware, Mercedes often conduct testing of cars before they launch them.. (do'h)
POINT 1.
You see all these test mules running around tallying up millions of miles of test data across the board...
But these millions of miles are quite possibly...
 Well, are you all braced for tomorrow ? - no doubt fuel will take a hit and vat seems to be the likely contender - what worries you most ?
I am a little concerned about a possible increase in income tax - or if they start messing with Pensions - there was some rumours about them reviewing...
Afternoon all
It's that time to consider a change of car again, the Audi TT just isn't practical for weekends away what with the amount of luggage the other half takes.
I can push my budget to £20k for the new purchase. I've spent quite a lot of time searching the Mercedes website to see...
Well .. I was always advised to go for "good" tyres because "they're the only thing that’s in contact with the ground etc" but after much thought I am going to try a budget brand.
My rear tyres only last 4000 or so miles. I haven't done a track day since last September and am not inclined to...
Is there a kit that a novice can purchase to use for reasonable cost?
My car was detailed just before I purchased it a couple of months ago, it's never looked as good sinse!
There is almost to much advice on here with dual action polishers, US products etc.
I would like some kind of kit...
So we are going to see a rise of 2p in duty on fuel in Spetember......great!
And we are going to see a further rise of about 2p later in the year when VAT is increased back to 17.5%.
So fuel will go up by at least 4p a litre by the end of the year on top of any increase due to the rise in...
We all know that as of next year the VED (road tax) rates will expand to more bands & increase in cost to penalise the higher polluting cars (yeah, right! :p ). The highest band will be Band M, for the biggest polluters {allegedly} that emit more than 255g of Co2 per km..
Now, this got me...
What are the details of the so-called "showroom tax"?
From April next year, the drivers of the most polluting cars will pay vehicle excise duty of £440.
Then from April 2010, people buying new models that are the most polluting will pay vehicle excise duty of £950 in their first year of...
According to the BBC;
"Mr Brown is expected to unveil plans for tax breaks for homes which use solar panels and wind turbines and a hike in road tax for the worst "gas guzzlers".
Some reports suggest that the duty on the least fuel-efficient cars will double to about £400 a year"
What is a...
"Cars with the lowest rate of emissions would pay no vehicle excise duty but the 1% of most polluting cars would pay £210" - www.bbc.co.uk
Can't find any actual details. Anyone?
I read some slightly worrying reports in the papers that Gordon is going to up the road tax quite substantially on anything >225g CO2 / km. Since I own a C230K (243g) and a '94 E300D I have a feeling I'm about to get shafted. Does anyone out there have any concrete info on just how MUCH this...
OK, so it not for my car.
Looking for a generic handsfree, plug in to the cig. lighter style hands free for my girlfriends car.
I don't want to go too cheap and nasty as I know it wont work and therefore not used, but I am sure there must be some half decent ones out now.
Anyone got one...
I fancy GPS in my car. I don't need it, but it looks shiny.
Having scanned over ebay I'm torn between a pocket pc with GPS reciever - has the advantage of being colour and offering 3D maps, but possibly with a low contrast screen going by my previous experience with pocket pcs.
Or something...
Has anyone got experiance of the two title topics.
I have had a look around and can find in-car dvd units with stand alone TFT monitors for around £130 which is a hell of a lot cheaper than my local in-car place are looking to charge, any feedback on what to look out for on these units?
