Can anyone tell me exactly what the tick over speed should be on the rev counter? At the moment it seems to be roughly idling at 650rmp ... should it not be around the 800 mark? Cannot find anything in my handbook relating to this. Keith

Very recently I had a misfire on my own C240 where it would vibrate on idle ad had a lag when pulling off or trying to accelerate and after putting my diagnostic equipment on it I changed the coil packs, 02 sensors, plugs and leads but that didn't solve the lumpy running at idle etc'. My 1998 c240 needs a new waterpump, is this a simple diy job? is there anything to look out for. it looks like the pump forms the front mount for the alternator, and I am not sure how the tensioner is loosened, any tips gratefully received
