Switch illumination too dim on R230

When the auto light sensor kicks in it dims my switch illumination way too much and makes it difficult to see unless it is pitch black. Anyone know of a way of adjusting this maybe in the Star setup? I have of course turned the dimmer up to full (several times) and it is still way too dim...

W168 A170 CDI Dash Display too dim

As noted in my other post, I've just got me hands on an A170 CDI but there are a few wee issues. 1. The dash 'digital' display is very very dim and is barely readable. Is there a way to increase the brightness? The manual says to press the button with + sign on it just left of the display but...

Auto dim RVM/ wing mirrors test

Does anyone know how to test the auto dimming wing mirrors on a C43? My Rear view mirror auto dims, and I have seen it turn slightly darker, but have never noticed the wing mirrors doing anything. How do you check, and what are they supposed to do? How do they work anyway? The RVM...

    Auto dim mirror leak

Has anyone had a auto dim mirror leak? I had my mirrors folded while on holiday last week, when I returned I found the O/S mirror had leaked down the drivers door and the fluid? had baked onto the paint in the recent hot weather. 80% I removed with T-cut but I'm left with a stained door. Has...

    Dim Xenon headlights

Now... I know the Xenon headlamps fitted to my W210 are supposed to be lovely and bright... but I'm pretty sure the normal halogen bulbs in my old car (Alfa 156) were a lot brighter - to the extent that I'm having to be rather cautious driving at night because I don't feel I can see very well...

    230TE dim dip sidelight feature

Hi, on my 230TE 1988, one of the nice features (I always thought) was when the engine is running, and the sidelights (ONLY) are on you get a brighter beam. It saves having dipped beam headlights on when you don't really need them. Recently however, this feature has only been working...
