Hi.
I have sourced all the parts for my c43 project and will be putting it back together over the next 10 days.
I have bought the gear oil from merc but not clear on how much it will take to fill the box and torque convertor from dry and the proper procedure i.e. while its running etc...
Hello all,
Just waiting for MB's "rescue partners".
Any ideas on the following.
2013 C350 Cdi. Car really slow acceleration, and won't rev past 3000 - even in neutral/sport/eco setting.
When setting off, car wont change gear until it hits 3000rpm, i.e.. I could drive round at...
I bought a UK imported R320 CDI 2007 model through a local dealer.
It’s got 42k miles on the clock and everything seems to check out consistent with the mileage.
Recently, while revving up from the low gears, there is some kind of engine/gearbox? jerking. Sometimes once it clears the low...
I need to strip it so that I can eventally get it into the boot of my A3 to get it to the scrap metal dealers, as its taking up half of the garage.
I stripped and saved the useful bits and for future use then stalled with the torque converter but had another look this evening.
I worked out...
Hi guys,
My w210 E36 is behaving as the title says, it holds onto 2nd gear and refuse to change up unless reving to high revs like 4-5k when the engine/gearbox is cold (usually first thing in the morning), it only seems to do that a couple of times then the gear box return to normal, i.e...
Mercedes C Class (AMG C 63) V8 6208cc engine on eBay (end time 02-Mar-11 09:29:01 GMT)
Mercedes C Class (AMG C 63) 7 speed auto gear box petro on eBay (end time 02-Mar-11 09:21:56 GMT)
Anybody interested in a conversion?
The engine and box is out of a 1997 E36 AMG (W210) with 122,000 miles.
Both were working perfectly.
Putting it in a W210 E320 should be straight forward but a W124/W201 conversion will require more work with the wiring.
Open to offers.
Have been monitoring an annoying sound that comes from the engine/gearbox for the past 6 months or so,when the revs hit about 2,300(both up & down the auto box) there's a sort of humming/vibrating sound that isn't present anywhere before or after 2,300rpm(makes no difference if the engine is...
Can you tell me the difference between ,
a M111 960 engine & a M111 961
a 722423 gearbox & a 722428
In both cases im interested to know if its difference is something external that can be swapped over, or, something internal
Bet someone on here knows ! :D
Hello a friend of mine has the above car and is having a few problems in the morning.
When she starts the car in the morning the engine is rough and won't pull. She needs to leave it running for a while to warm up until it's smooth.
Also when driving after it's warm the gearbox is very...
When i corner fairly hard/fast such as a small roundabout for example and i gently push the throttle i get a whine noise that is in time with the engine so pretty sure its the engine but could be gearbox.....Then as soon as car straightened up no more noise at all....Could this be low fluid...
Hope someone can help, and apologies if this has been covered before!
I have a C220cdi auto - 2003 - 03, 205000 miles!
When car is in drive, but stationary, there is definite vibration, if I put in neutral or park, there is not as much.
When in drive and moving as normal, everything seems ok...
First of all apologies, I am not technically car minded and this is the first Mercedes I have owned.
Its a 10 year old C180 auto with 82,000 miles.
Bought it from a friend at work and although I do enjoy driving it, it is certainly very sluggish compared to other cars I have owned.
It also...
I've recently acquired an '88 560 SEC and have since found what appears to be a terminal problem with it. There is quite a large amount of oil fumes coming from the breather pipe on the cam cover into the air filter box when revved, and having read a post (in the 'other' forum), it would seem...
